Miss Melbourne has always loved children; being the oldest sibling, a favorite aunt and “adopted” mother. Miss Melbourne has lived in the Midwest and East Coast since moving to the US from Jamaica at the age of nine. California has been on her list of places to live since she was the age of her students, and she is looking forward to exploring all it has to offer.

Other interests:

Miss Melbourne collects dolls, particularly those from other countries or cultures, enjoys music and taking pictures. Miss Melbourne is an avid sports fan with an eclectic collection of favorite teams: Chicago Cubs & Washington Nationals, Dallas Cowboys, and the LA Lakers to name a few. Miss Melbourne also collects smiley face memorabilia to represent her constant smiles.

Favorite Bible Verse:

“One Friday night a group of us were in worship and a friend cried out saying she couldn’t see God. I prayed and asked God to show me a verse to help her. I opened my Bible to these verses. They have proven true over and over again since then (15 years ago). God hears my/our cry and He intercedes.”

Psalm 40:1-3 I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the desolate pit, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.
